Found an old pencil cartoon of a near-accident that happened way back in 1985. Four-Wheel-Drive Chevrolet Pickups that rode around on 48" tall Monster Mudders with 14" of lift (suspension and body) were all too common back then, and this one was piloted by someone who just took it to the car wash every weekend to hose the Toyotas out from under the wheelwells. Guess he felt extra brave taking on a Cutlass, which proved to be only a slightly higher bump in the road. This drawing was done in anger and to "vent my spleen" against unqualified drivers.
Piloting a four wheel drive is a true art form, and there are so many extra considerations and computations to it, when done properly. I admire four-wheeling when done properly, and at present, is a skill I do not entirely possess! I like four wheel drive vehicles that are NOT put together with baling wire, bondo & duct tape, two rural-route newspaper boxes spliced together to form a hood scoop, etc.
Anyway, for anybody who has ever been annoyed by one of these Jehus, here is: "The Über Goober" (or in its entirety: Über Goober Fo' Wheel Drahhhve), 1024x768 resolution. Hope it gives you a smile and a laugh!!!
aaaah man, this one is really a GREAT drawing, really. I love it all, the detail is insane and incredibly well executed. The tires are great, both the Truck's and the Cuttlass's, and the cartoony details in the drawing, like the eyes in the scop really wake it up. awesome shit. you shpuld do this pencil drawing thing more often, you are VERY good. +fav
Hahahahaa!!! Thanks!!!! I was SO ticked at that guy! He looked me up because word got out that I had TOONED his truck. I thought at first, that I might be losing a few teeth, but to my surprise, he wanted to know if he could BUY a copy of it!!!
I cant believe i missed this the last time i checked out your gallery. I had a good chuckle over it, partly cause i have a buddy who had a 1992 jeep cherokee that fits a similar description to the "uber goober". Well maybe not THAT big, but still. He even got a nice suspension flex shot of the truck on his old 1980 honda civic's hood. Needless to say he scared a few old ladies cruisin around in it. Anyways nice pic haha.

"Whence do we come? What are we doing? Where are we going?
Hahahahaaa!!! Yeah, I was ticked off when I drew it. Word got around to the guy that owned the beast, and he found me on campus and said: "Ah heard ya drew mah truck!" Wondering just exactly WHERE this was going, and just how BADLY I was about to hurt his fist with my eye, I said: "Yep, I sure DID!!!!" ...and I have to admit I was kind of surprised when he actually liked it and asked for a couple of copies! But, I have always kept a closer watch on vehicles with pipe bumpers. I know they work A LOT better than the chrome-plated pie-pan bumpers they use nowadays!
Thanks for giving my ego an early Christmas present!!!
LOL! Brilliant drawing. I love it. (The eyes are so cute!) When I was much younger, I drew monster trucks all the time.
Too bad you didn't also draw this from the rear. You'd have had an excuse to include those idiotic mudflaps with the girls on them.
